About Stu Hansen Shelter Asset Management

Stu Hansen enjoys a challenge. As Vice President of Marquee Asset Management, LLC, and President of Shelter Asset Management, divisions of Drewco Development Corporation, Stu Hansen took responsibility for entry into the American real estate market. His duties included hiring administrative support and developing a management team to acquire and manage luxury apartments and homes in California.

Hansen also serves as Vice President of International Investments for Drewco Development. Through Shelter Asset Management, Drewco invests in value-add residential opportunities.

Hansen entered real estate through his work in the hospitality industry. As Vice President of the Clarion Group of Companies, he took charge of converting hotels into shopping centers. Previously, he directed group operations and development at Clarion Hotels, Canada; Hansen also held budgeting and forecasting duties, as well as responsibilities executing policy, marketing, and regional sales. He was involved in the renovation and redevelopment of several hotels.

Stu Hansen created and implemented regional sales activities as Marketing and Sales Manager and Development Coordinator for Clarion. He additionally conducted surveys about customer preferences and product positioning.

Stu Hansen earned his Honors in Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He received several awards to offset his tuition, including the Alexander Rutherford Academic Scholarships for three consecutive years, the University of Western Ontario Academic Entrance Scholarship (four years), and the Richard Ivey School of Business Academic Entrance Scholarship. In addition, he placed on the dean’s list for three years.
